Religious Education/CCD 2020-2021

All signs point to a somewhat different but productive year as we are planning and preparing for the Religious Education Program. To accommodate the directives of the Archdiocese of Miami and further promote safety and distance separation requirements, we have put together our approach for the next few months.  Later, if the environment changes, we will reevaluate the situation and make any necessary changes.

Father Dever, the teachers and I recently met to discuss the best approach for the educational program which is outlined below.

Religious Education classes will begin on Sunday, September 27, 2020.   For now, classes will be online digital portal guided by the teacher in cooperation with the parents. A hard copy of the “Christ in Us” teaching book which mirrors the online digital portal will also be provided.  There will be no regular class on campus.
Registration fees will be waived but donations of any amount from parishioners are welcome to cover the Religious Education Program expenses.
We plan to celebrate Mass with the children and their families on the First and Third Sunday of each month at 9 am. Note:  the children must sit with their families at the Mass and not as a class.  There will be no classes following the Mass.

It is our hope that we will celebrate the Sacraments of Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation at the end of the year as usual.  As parishioners and parents, we know that we can make this school year one of growth and achievement for our children.
