Sunday, June 19, was the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ historically known by its Latin name, Corpus Christi, celebrates the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

The Scriptures remind us of God’s presence in our lives and invite us into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Following the 11:30 a.m. Mass of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, there was the traditional, outdoor Corpus Christi procession with solemn benediction at the shrine of Our Lady of Knock.

Although modern culture may disdain religious processions, it remains a truly “hearth and home” event in our parish. Mother Church has many colorful, loving traditions. Such processions as this are just one example. Everyone was invited.
